How long does it take to get up and running?

Once we have your payment, inventory, and policy data in hand, onboarding typically takes two weeks. From signed contract to your first meaningful insights, most programs are fully operational within four weeks. The main variable is how quickly your procurement process moves.

Do we need IT resources or technical staff to implement Turnstone?

Accepted Answer

No. Turnstone handles the data aggregation, normalization, and modeling on our end. What we need from you is access to your existing data files and vendor connections. As long as your data is reasonably structured, your team does not need to be technical to get started or to use the platform day to day.

Question 3

We already get reports from our pay station and mobile payment vendors. Why do we need this?

Vendor reports show you paid occupancy, the share of your inventory that paying parkers are using. They do not account for duration of stay, nonpayment, overpayment, or underpayment. And they have no connection to your parking inventory, which means you cannot see which specific curb zones or areas are above, at, or below their targets. Turnstone gives you the complete picture and tells you where to act.

How does Turnstone handle our data and security?

Accepted Answer

Turnstone's infrastructure is currently hosted on AWS in a US region. The platform is architected to support deployment in an AWS Canadian region, and Turnstone is prepared to provision Canadian hosting for customers who require it. We encrypt data at rest using AES-256 and in transit using TLS 1.3, enforce role-based access control with multi-factor authentication for elevated privileges, and run daily encrypted backups.

How do we justify the cost internally?

Most programs frame it one of two ways: revenue recovery or resource efficiency. Santa Rosa added $1.1M to its Parking Fund after identifying zones running above target occupancy. Others have reduced the manual effort required to run rate reviews from months to weeks, freeing up staff without adding headcount.

We have analysts who could pull this data themselves. Why not do that?

Wrangling data from multiple vendors, normalizing it into a single structure, associating it with your parking inventory, and making that process repeatable is not an analyst problem. It is a data platform problem. Building that infrastructure internally requires significant engineering resources and deep domain knowledge of how parking programs actually behave.

Foundational tier deployments typically start in the $15K to $50K annual range for mid-sized programs, with larger and more complex programs scaling from there.
